Shanna Schulhauser to run for Conservative Party of Canada nomination in Regina-Wascana
February 19, 2018
REGINA, SK – Today, Shanna Schulhauser announced she is seeking the nomination to be the next Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Regina-Wascana.
"Regina-Wascana is ready for renewal and that means Mr. Goodale’s time is up," said Schulhauser. "As a young, successful woman who is principled and forward-thinking, I am ready to offer sound leadership and bring a fresh perspective to federal issues that affect everyone who calls the riding home."
Over the past decade, Shanna has built a rewarding career as a communications and media relations strategist and senior leader in the Government of Saskatchewan. Currently, she is the Director of Communications and Official Spokesperson for the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation.
Shanna is also passionate about her community and has volunteered her time with the Regina Open Door Society, Regina Folk Festival, United Way, Canadian International Council and International Association of Business Communicators.
"Mr. Goodale sold out Regina-Wascana by supporting Trudeau’s carbon tax and crippling small business tax changes," said Schulhauser. "Unlike Mr. Goodale, dumping the job-killing carbon tax and ensuring families and small businesses have more money in their pockets is job number one for me."
Shanna feels strongly about mobilizing more women to become active in politics and is a proud member of Equal Voice—a national, bilingual, multi-partisan organization dedicated to electing more women to public office in Canada.
"Women bring unique perspectives to the political arena which helps enrich our democracy, improve outcomes in our communities and make governments more representative," said Schulhauser. "I am passionate about increasing the representation of women in federal politics—especially the number of women in the Conservative Party caucus."
Shanna lives and works in the riding and is a graduate of the University of Regina’s Bachelor of Arts in Journalism program.
"The hard-working constituents of Regina-Wascana deserve leadership they can trust," said Schulhauser. "There would be no higher honour than to represent them on Parliament Hill and work alongside Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party to build a brighter future for the riding and for Canada."
